Reflecting on English 111 My experience into English 111 not only left me anxious, it became a self-revelation. My learning capabilities were challenged because writing did not come natural and the possibility of becoming a prominent writer were going to take a lot of time, effort and hard work.In English 111-13 learning was mainly focused on the improvement of writing skills, rising above goals, and writing different essays and better. At the beginning of the semester my writing skills lack luster and need to be improved. Prewriting was big a improvement switch made preparing essays sound better.For my third inquiry in English 111, I chose to research same-sex marriage. When I wrote the first draft of my essay, my thesis statement was: “Same-sex marriage should be legalized in the United States because it denies homosexuals their basic rights, benefits, and equality that heterosexual counterparts are able to have.”.
English 111: A Personal Reflection As the semester comes to a close this assignment provides an excellent opportunity to look back on my experiences in this class. It has become quite evident to me that I have grown a substantial amount as a writer and as a person as a result of my participation in this class.The objectives of English 111 are for the students to develop adequate writing skills among a variety of genres. The genres written about include a narrative, analysis, argument, evaluative, business letter, memorandum, bibliography, and report. By the end of the course, students are expected to master thesis development, revision, and writing as a recursive process.
Being a first-person essay any reflective essay focuses on the author’s personal analysis of a certain issue. The thesis statement of such an essay presented in its introduction shares the reader’s opinion of the analyzed matter or reading.
